Video gaming has become a trans-generational pastime with multiple forms of accessibility. Whether on a computer, handheld or on the couch with family we can feel those muscle aches and pains build up. We know that workspace posture is important, but how we spend our recreational hours is also important.

A study found that 42% of athletes gaming at a professional level resulted in an increase in musculoskeletal pains with an average game time of 3 hours (Lindberg L, 2020). The main sites of reported pain are the neck, shoulder, and back  (Tholl C, 2022) which maybe be residual from resting incorrect posture. Added to the prevalence of carpal tunnel syndrome for those who work at a desktop, restriction of movement and static positions go hand in hand.

With the objective of improving resting muscle tone, chiropractic aims to not only improve functions through activity but also function during restful times.
